Get fitter, get faster and have fun!

Whether you're 25 and want to stay fit, or 52 and still looking for faster 10K times, the TROTs can help you to achieve your personal running goals.

We are a small but thriving club based in St Clears, West Wales with around 60 members from all parts of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.

The club is proud to include several Welsh international road runners, as well as many others who simply enjoy training in good company on the quiet lanes around St Clears!

Join a friendly, thriving running club!

Some club members run a couple of miles once or twice a week. While others are aiming for a marathon PB. Some take part in club training sessions every Tuesday and Thursday night. Others simply run for the TROTs in occasional races. Either way, membership of an established running club offers many benefits:

  • Get support and advice from experienced runners
  • Find the perfect training partner
  • Discover new running routes
  • Improve your speed, strength and stamina
  • Compete in club events (Cross Country League, Welsh Champs, Inter-club races)
  • Share travel to races (and reduced entry fees)
  • Make sure you are properly insured for running events
  • Discounted running gear
  • Get motivated to run that first marathon
  • Become part of a winning club team
  • Or just have fun getting fit!

How to join

Most new members give the club a try first at one of our Thursday night training sessions - we meet at 6:30 pm at the St Clears Rugby Club, just off Station Road in St Clears.

Runners go out in small groups covering between 3-8 miles typically (or do speed work on the field or hills in winter). Showers and changing facilities are available (a contribution of a pound is requested). There is a short meeting on the first Thursday of every month at around 8.30 to discuss recent race results and club news. The session finishes at 9.00 pm.

New runners are welcome to simply turn up one Thursday evening for a chat and a quick run. Or you can contact us first using the form on our Contact Us page.

To join the club you can either:

Membership Fees

Membership fees and other income from the club are used for trophies, race organisation, insurance cover, use of the facilities at St Clears Rugby Club, minibus hire, and support of a wide range of other club activities, such as the Castles Relay, Annual Tour, Awards Evening, etc.

The club accounts are presented in detail to club members at the AGM, which this year takes place annually, usually in February. All members are encouraged to participate actively in the 'running' of the club and help shape its future.
